Brand System, Packaging, Menu Design, Swag
Our initial pencils explored styles and treatments from the 70's, typographic styles, and iconography. We needed to find a Parent Logo that was flexible but unique to the personality of the Cafe.
The circular badge-like logo we landed on is completely hand-drawn.
We wanted the color to be a living part of the logo. A flexible system that allowed their product lines to pop off the shelf. But it also gave us another way to work that funky vibe of the 70's into the heart of the brand.
One of our favorite parts of Branding is working on the Brand System. For Pretty Bird, it was about bringing the feeling of "Good Vibes" forward through the design elements, but also in the Child Logos.
Instead of using the typical coffee bag, we used a Crowler to deliver Pretty Bird’s whole bean coffee. Giving it a fresh approach and memorable packaging experience.
We also expanded the original look and feel into the use of watercolors to mix the fun and elegance of the brand together.
But to make sure it didn’t get too whimsical, we added a little custom typography to the side with the Pretty Bird street inspired script.
For “special” can releases or limited runs, we introduced the gold crowlers and the “marble” inspired water color look.
Last, for a unique experience, we wanted to play off the interior of the cafe. So we pulled the floral inspiration onto the can label for that fresh pop of color and an alternative system for label options as Pretty Bird expands its product offering.
